VINTAGE DESCRIPTION

2003 has been an excellent year at Pretty Sally. We had, as is usual for our microclimate, an exceptionally long growing season, leading to full flavor maturity.
WINEMAKING

As is customary for Pretty Sally wines, little intervention is allowed during the making of our wines. The objective is to allow the flavors to develop naturally. Pressing, maceration and fermentation are carried out with attention to detail to provide the ideal conditions during each stage. After fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel, the wine was aged for 19 months in new American oak barrels and new french oak barrels. Bottling was in January 2004 and the wine will be released in the spring of 2005.
TASTING NOTES

Full bodied, mysterious and loaded with complex flavors. Shows intense aromas of spices, pepper-steak, red pepper, plum and berries. The palate is layered with flavors of highly extracted bright berry fruit, pepper and hints of tobacco that linger in the finish. A cool climate shiraz that speaks the terroir with a strong Northern-Rhone twist.
